:: email campaign manager ...

... do you want to create your own automated email campaigns? now you can! The first version or ampEducator email 'Campaigns' has just been added under Prospective Student section. Campaigns are a series of automated actions performed on prospects which can be triggered by either the number of days or the current status of the prospect.

These actions include:

:: Change Status
:: Send Email to Prospect
:: Send Email to Owner
:: Add Activity
:: Add New Campaign
:: Drop Campaign

Let us know if you are interested in having this powerful new tool activated for your account!

:: student & staff ID Cards ...

... the ID card section has been updated to make it more flexible. Before the cards had fixed data but now you can now add and format many new fields as required. You also now have the option to disable the bar code as well. This feature is available for both Student and Staff Id cards.

Note: You can track hours and attendance with the use of a USB bar code reader and our updated hour clock system which will be available in October 2010. If you are interested in trying this out please let us know!

:: attendance ...

... attendance has been updated in several ways both from the overall course and individual student perspective.

You now have the ability to indicate an 'Authorized Absence'. This type of absence gets recorded but it's not used in calculating the average absence.

Many clients were expressing the option to setup, schedule and take attendance for courses with multiple events in each day and you can now do this as well.

The attendance view was updated to display only days on which events are scheduled and it also now displays the times for each day. This was in preparation for allowing multiple attendance events on the same day from above.

Users will also take note that the attendance stats on the main course list page have been altered to now show the following:

P = Total number of classes present
A = Total number of classes absent
T = Total number of classes
P% = The student's attendance rate for this course (P/T)
L = Total number of classes late

For students - you have an attendance tab which gives you an overview of a student's attendance rates (Current, Overall, By Academic Year, By Term and By Program). You can also view the attendance for a student for all their courses and run a report by date range - check it out!

Attendance is better than ever with ampEducator!

:: sharing ...

... many users have expressed some confusion about the recent addition of 'Sharing' with our security update.

The concept of sharing is simple in ampEducator - any resource that a user creates must be shared with other users or they will not be able to access that resource. The user chooses this under the Sharing tab when creating the resource and this includes prospect, students, courses, documents, reports and much more. If a user is not able to access something it most likely is because the resource has not been shared with them.

If you want a group or single user(s) to always (by default) have access to any resource that is added you can define this in the default sharing in configuration. First create a Group and add user members - then select that Group as the default sharing for that resource. You can add as many Groups as you like.

Keep in mind that each time you add a new user to a group it is important to re-add the group by deleting it first and then selecting either can modify and/or access existing - otherwise the new and existing user(s) in the group will not be able to see the previous resources for that section. If you need any help with this security configuration - please contact us at support@amperea.com anytime!

Thanks for all the support as we build you the best fully featured affordable student information system!
